Karl & Matt @ICE

Karl Helme

Karl is the founder of ICE and is the driving force behind the forever-growing initiatives to inspire everybody to get involved in Exercise whatever your financial situation and fitness background.

Karl has been involved in fitness from the age of 8 but really developed his passion for training at the highest level whilst serving in the Royal Marines, representing the Navy in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Football, Judo and Triathlon. Karl also represents the Fire and rescue service in Football, The World Firefighter games and various other fitness competitions.

10 yrs ago his attentions turned to attaining the Personal Trainer Diploma through the YMCA and rapidly gained a reputation for inspiring others to train with the same motivation, passion and intensity. He has trained the rich and famous and not so fortunate alike and has a proven track record for results whatever the goals.

ICE has been developed to offer a wide variety of training, massage and healthy lifestyle options to make the dream of the perfect body a reality. ICE is now in it’s 9th year.

When Karl is not training other people he likes to workout anywhere and everywhere, play team sports, mountain biking, climbing, hiking and charity fitness events.

Matt Frazer

Matt joined forces with Karl in October 2009 to form a business partnership of innovative training methods and bespoke workout packages. Matt's high energy workouts combined with the creativity of the ICE sessions have made ICE the talk of the town.

Matts professional experience includes two years in the marines, from leaving school. He has since worked with a broad clientele of all ages and levels of fitness.  He has trained adult professional athletes (most notably Huddersfield Town Football Club and triathletes competing at the highest level).  He has also worked with high school pupils competing in various athletic events.  The part of his job he finds most rewarding is seeing his clients not only improve their fitness, but also gain self confidence as their bodies change, helping people opening themselves up to whole new physical possibilities.

He appreciates that some people can only allocate a short time to their fitness goals and for them he will design a fast, and yet challenging exercise routine.

Matt can also teach a variety of group exercise sessions, including bootcamp, pump and circuit (both inside and out).  No two classes are the same and although he asks clients to push themselves all they can everyone has fun.

When Matt is not working he runs competitively and is part of a grappling team.  He also swims and enjoy's diving.  Matt is always looking for a new challenge and is always trying new workouts that will further develop his own fitness levels.  "Health and fitness are good things, but they are a means to living the best life you can.  Fitness should allow you to do more, to try new things, and to have more experiences that make your life worthwhile!"
